Fort Union National Monument

A historical site north of Las Vegas, NM. Fascinating ruins of a Civil War era supply post. The ruins are almost sculptural. An hour or so takes you on a tour around the fort with informational signage. It was not involved in battle, but housed soldiers who fought the Indian and Civil Wars. A suprise in the middle of nowhere.
